About Us

Downing Clark HOPE Center (DCHC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring HOPE and transforming lives of young girls who have been Commercially Sexually Exploited.

Downing Clark HOPE Center is a high-quality RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT CENTER that exists to restore hope, courage, love, faith and healing in the lives of young girl’s ages 6-17 that have been sexually abused and exploited. Downing Clark HOPE Center specializes in protective care and shelter for girls who are victims of Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking (DMST).

DOMESTIC MINOR SEX TRAFFICKING is nothing less than a modern form of slavery in which young girls all over this country are being forced to engage in prostitution and pornography, exchanging sex for food, money, drugs and shelter. The Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) is the second largest criminal industry in the world and tragically, the fastest growing. It is estimated that as many as 300,000 children in America are victimized each year. Our unique aspiration is to offer comprehensive treatment that restores the "whole girl"… Body, Mind, Heart and Spirit.

The Downing Clark HOPE Center offers a “sanctuary treatment model” where we create a safe, nurturing and secure environment which affirms the dignity of each girl. Our dedicated staff specializes in trauma therapy & counseling. We meet the basic needs of protective care & shelter of which many of these girls have not had in the past. We also strive to teach the girls essential life skills & provide a basic "quality" education.

Our desire is to restore the girl’s spirit by sharing the love and hope of Christ with each girl. We recognize that it is only through the power of Christ that healing can begin and broken lives can be restored.

Downing Clark HOPE Center is committed to reaching the growing number of hurting and broken girls who are victims of sexual abuse & trafficking.

Our goals include:

Transforming the lives of hundreds of traumatized girls through our comprehensive clinical, spiritual & physical programs;
Joining the movement to create a network of Georgia's foster homes to serve orphan girls who have been sexually exploited;
Pursuing advocacy, awareness & funding for victims of Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking (DMST).

The Downing Clark HOPE Center strives to become one of the top Compassionate Sanctuary Residential Treatment programs in the United States that specializes in providing healing for young girls ages 6-17 who are victims of Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC), abuse and trafficking. They seek to restore HOPE by offering comprehensive treatment that transforms the “whole girl”: Body, Mind, Heart, and Spirit..

The Downing Clark HOPE Center (DCHC) seeks to be a leader in the movement to meet the growing need for high quality residential treatment centers for victims of Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking (DMST) offering comprehensive treatment that restores the whole girl: Body, Mind, Heart, and Spirit. DCHC is committed to reaching the growing number of hurting and broken girls
By transforming the lives of 500 traumatized young girls over the next three to five years through comprehensive clinical, spiritual, and physical programs. The founders of Downing Clark HOPE Center will relentlessly pursue the advocacy, awareness and funding for victims of Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking (DMST) and continue to join the movement to create a network of Georgia’s Christian foster homes to serve orphan girls.

Mission

The mission of DOWNING CLARK HOPE CENTER & ACADEMY (DCHCA) is to restore HOPE, courage, love and faith in young girls that have been sexually exploited. These girls, many of them who are sexually exploited for commercial purposes are victims of a severe kind of human trafficking. These girls ages 6-17 may have serious emotional, behavioral & mental challenges. Each and every one of these girls described have suffered trauma to the degree that has splintered their souls into shambles. It is our job to make sure each girl we are privileged to serve has every opportunity possible to help restore her hope and transform her life!

Philosophy

Our program’s philosophy is of the belief that each youth has a positive treatment experience. We believe empathic, hopeful, integrated and inclusive treatment relationships are one of the most important contributions to treatment success in any setting. We believe that every human being has value and a purpose in life – we believe it is our purpose to work together and use our Center as a vehicle to help those in need realize their value and believe in their purpose. It is our philosophy that youth and their families thrive in an atmosphere of acceptance and support!
